Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine
Dr. Holt was honored to present at Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine in Las Cruces, NM. The presentation emphasized strategies for creating a welcoming and safe healthcare environment for LGBTQ+ patients. This 90 minute session included optimizing waiting rooms, intake forms, and interactions with patients to better serve this population. The discussion also covered specific health risks and vulnerabilities within the LGBTQ+ community and explored effective ways to broach sensitive topics such as sexual health and suicide prevention.
The audience consisted of in person first year medical students in Las Cruces and live streamed medical students from their Melbourne, FL, campus.
